UMC posts NT$42.26B profit on non-operating investment gains in 2Q26

United Microelectronics (UMC) reported consolidated second-quarter 2026 revenue of NT$68.73 billion (approx. US$2.12 billion) during its earnings call on July 29. Transcend posts record NT$11.9 billion profit in 2Q26, surpassing any prior full-year earnings

Memory module maker Transcend Information posted record-high profit in the second quarter and first half of 2026. Second-quarter consolidated revenue reached NT$18.82 billion (approx. US$581.96 million), up 38.1% from the previous quarter, while gross margin rose to 77.3%. Operating profit increased 44.4% sequentially to NT$14.13 billion, and net income after tax increased 46.5% sequentially to NT$11.9 billion. Earnings per share (EPS) reached NT$27.70, with single-quarter profit significantly outperforming the company's full-year earnings in any previous year.

Taiwan, Czech chamber ink MOU to fuel Eastern Europe drone hub

p class="P1" data-sourcepos="5:1-5:513;116-628"Taiwan's Commerce Development Research Institute (CDRI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic (TCCCZ) on July 23 to jointly build a Taiwan-Central and Eastern Europe industrial cooperation platform, linking Taiwan with the Czech Republic and Central and Eastern European markets. The CDRI said the two sides will focus on areas such as drones, technology, and talent exchanges, as well as international market promotion and business matchmaking.

TaiSol expects server revenue to top 50% in 2H26, liquid cooling to exceed 25% for full year

As power consumption of artificial intelligence (AI) servers continues to rise, liquid cooling is rapidly evolving from an auxiliary solution into a standard feature at the rack and data center levels. Optimistic that the liquid cooling trend will continue to grow, thermal solutions provider TaiSol Electronics said during its earnings call on July 20 that its liquid cooling portfolio has further expanded beyond cold plates, manifolds, and tubing to include coolant distribution units (CDU) and products and architectures related to 800V high-voltage direct current (HVDC) power supply. Going forward, the company will focus on integrated products and system-level solutions.

Advanced Echem Materials to invest NT$4.52 billion in Longtan plant

Advanced Echem Materials (AEMC), a semiconductor specialty chemicals materials maker, plans to invest roughly NT$4.52 billion (approx. US$139.66 million) in Taiwan's Longtan Science Park to build a smart chemical plant and laboratory. The project will strengthen the company's R&D resource integration and operating efficiency, as well as create job opportunities for chemistry, materials, and chemical engineering talent.

Foxlink opens first US AI demonstration factory in Texas

Foxlink Texas (FTI), a subsidiary of Cheng Uei Precision Industry (Foxlink), officially opened its first artificial intelligence (AI) demonstration factory at AllianceTexas in Fort Worth, Texas, on July 14, marking the group's first such facility in the US. UMT to acquire majority stake in Dynahz Technologies for NT$1.7 billion

Universal Microwave Technology (UMT), a manufacturer of satellite and millimeter-wave (mmWave) communication components, suspended trading on July 15 and held a material information briefing. The company announced that its board of directors approved the acquisition of more than a 51% stake in high-frequency connector manufacturer Dynahz Technologies for no more than NT$1.7 billion (approx. US$52.8 million).

Innolux 1H26 revenue hits 5-year high on auto, advanced packaging

Taiwanese panel manufacturer Innolux reported unaudited consolidated revenue of NT$21.7 billion (approx. US$675.4 million) for June 2026, up 5.1% from the previous month and 17.25% from a year earlier. Unaudited consolidated revenue for the second quarter totaled NT$63.6 billion, down 4.6% from the first quarter. Cumulative revenue from the first half of 2026 reached NT$130.23 billion, up 16.11% year-over-year and the highest for the same period in the past five years.

MA-tek hits record June revenue on rising AI chip testing demand, CPO complexity

Semiconductor testing company Materials Analysis Technology (MA-tek) reported June 2026 revenue of NT$558 million (approx. US$17.41 million), up 2.56% from May and 11.01% year over year, marking a record high for four consecutive months. Second-quarter 2026 revenue reached NT$1.64 billion, a record high for a single quarter, while first-half 2026 revenue totaled NT$3.07 billion, an increase of 17.47% from the same period in 2025.
